Australians now make over 4.7 million overseas trips every year and are intrepid travellers. They travel in increasing numbers to all corners of the world, which can, at times, be dangeous to their health.

Dr John Mackellar, at Mooroopna Medical Centre, is a member of Travel Clinics Australia, a national organisation of general practitioners, dedicated to protecting the health of Australians travelling to foreign lands. He is also a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine and has been awarded their Certificate in Travel Health.
